Memory Nightmare

Memories flood my brain,
thoughts of tears
and unreal hopes,
lost chances
and once forgotten loves.

It is strange
this reality I'm floating in,
The blackness fades to moving pictures
like movies of my past.

A reoccurring nightmare
that is far to real.
Sinking into shadows
that call your name.

Everything is different
but exactly the same,
the color of your eyes
the sound of your voice
the gentle roughness of your hands.

Memories flood my brain,
thoughts of tears
and unreal hopes,
lost chances
and once forgotten loves.

It is all too comfortable
to let myself keep falling,
to release myself to the demons
and the minions of the deep.

But I refuse
to drown in such a way,
to die in the past
without looking for a future first.

There are no lost memories,
everything remains in my mind.
It is impossible
to ignore them.
